Turning pro
- Dive Master
After you qualify as a
Rescue diver you are eligible to turn pro. The first rung on the
pro
ladder is Dive Master. It's takes ten day's of intensive
learning in the classroom, pool and sea. There is a great deal
of emphasis on dive planning and supervision of both divers and
students. As this is the first step towards becoming an
instructor you are also introduced to some of the demands of
that job.
But there is also a different option to complete this course.
Instead of the
ten day normal PADI training method you can sign up for a
working internship learning every aspect of the job on the boat
and in the dive centre. This route is a real cash saver for DM trainees who have
only logged the 20 dives required to start this course. To
gain certification you must have 60 dives logged and these are
included in the cost of the course.
Not only do they gain real "hands on" working experience but
also get 40 dives free.
Dive
Master trainees
can also log the total of 100 dives
required to take the next step which is a PADI IDC (Instructor Development
Course.) If your ambition is to live and work in Thailand then
knowing the local dive sites makes your prospects better.
Drop us an email and we
will help you plan a schedule that fits in with other demands on
your time.
PADI Instructor
internships:
This fast-track,
intensive course can take you from Open Water diver through to
PADI professional instructor in just six months. We can
also continue your instructor training to qualify you to teach
specialty courses or become a PADI IDC Staff Instructor so that
you can participate in training instructor candidates and have
greater employment prospects.
Several dive centres in
Pattaya now offer instructor internships jumping on the system that was launched in 1999 by Peter
Chandler before he and his brother Neil started their own dive shop, Real Divers.
But Real Divers, a sister
company of Diving Thailand, has one big difference. It is the
only PADI dive centre in Pattaya that doesn't demand full
payment of training costs, educational materials and
hotel accommodation upfront and usually with no refunds if you
have to drop out before completing the internship.
Real Divers believe that asking a
student to gamble on being able to complete such a demanding
course before he or she is even certain that they will enjoy scuba diving
is not a reasonable way to conduct business.
So Real Divers offers the internship
on a "pay as you
go" course-by-course basis. The schedule starts with
Open Water and if you were to suddenly realise that becoming a
scuba instructor wasn't quite what you thought it would be then you could
drop out without losing any more than
the cost of the courses you have already completed.
If you are planning to
become a PADI instructor then why not talk to us first about our
highly personalised courses, tailored specifically for you
and where you won't become part of
an instructor production line.
If you have
already been quoted a price for an instructor internship then why not give us the
chance to offer you a better deal? What have you got to lose?
